REQUIREMENT FOR NEW PASSPORT

The Sri Lankan passport holders resident in Egypt or in accredited countries such as, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Eritrea and Sudan, could apply for a new passport if their passport is 10 years old or all the pages of their passports are exhausted. The following documents are required.

1. Current Passport

2. Copy of the birth certificate.

3. Colour photographs – 04 PCS.(3.5x4.5 cm)

4. Passport fee (U S$ 150/-) or LE 840/-

APPLICATION FOR NEW PASSPORT IN LIEU OF LOST PASSPORT

The following documents are required:

1. Copy of the pages of lost passport (if available)

2. Copy of the birth certificate

3. Copy of the National Identity card

4. Police report

5. Colour photographs 04 PCS ( 3.5x4.5 cm )

6. Passport fee US $ 388/- or LE 2173/-

(Responsible officer should interview him/her and satisfy of his/her identity)

NB: Please note that new passports are issued by the Controller/Immigration & Emigration, Colombo and that it would work 6 weeks time from the date of application.

APPLICATION FOR A NEW PASSPORT FOR NEW BORN CHILD

The following documents are required.

1. A copy of Citizenship Certificate issued under Section 5.2 of Citizenship Act. If not, a copy of the receipt for payment for Birth Registration.

2. A copy of the birth certificate issued by the Mission under Consular Functions

Act.

3. Copies of the pages of passports of parents.

4. Written consent of both parents.

5. A copy of the marriage certificate of parents.

6. Colour Photographs -- 04 PCS (3.5x4.5cm)

7 Fee US$ 150/-.or LE 840/-

INCLUSION OF CHILD'S NAME IN PARENT'S PASSPORT

1. A copy of birth certificate of the child.

2. Fee US $ 5/-.or LE 28/-

3. Application form (Form "C")

RENEWAL OF PASSPORT

A passport could be renewed for a maximum period of 5 years provided it does not exceed the 10 years validity period of the passport from the date of issue. The following documents are required.

1. Application form

2. One Photograph

3. Fee US$ 3/- per year or LE 17/- per year

REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

1. Birth certificate issued by the local authorities.

2. Marriage certificate of the parents.

3. Copies of the birth certificate of the parents.

4. Copies of the pages of Parents' passports.

5. Citizenship declaration.

6. Fee. LE 33 + 110 + SLRs. 1000/-

REGISTRTION OF MARRIAGE

1. A letter duly attested by Grama Sevaka and Divisional Secretary and the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirming the civil status of both parties.

2. Fee: Notice of Marriage LE 110/-

REGISTRATION OF DEATH

Death certificate issued by the local authorities.
Police report.

(Please note that the Mission would issue visit visa valid for one month on clearance from the Controller, Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka. The applicants are expected to apply to the Controller/Immigration and Emigration for their resident visa through the local sponsor, within the one month validity period of their visit visa.)

Registration and Renewal of Sri Lankan Migrant worker

The Sri Lankan migrant workers are kindly requested to renew their SLBFE registration every two years at the nearest Sri Lankan Embassy or at the SLBFE in Colombo. The following documents are requested.

1. The applicant should possess a valid visa for employment

2. Passport should be valid for the period of contract

Registration – Fees

1. First registration –All categories (SLRS 10,200 + 15% Vat = SLRS 11,730/-)

2. Registration would be valid for 2 years

Renewal - Fees

1. Renewal of Registration at all category (Under the same sponsor)

SLRS 3200 + 15% Vat = SLRS 3680/- ( LE 185/- )

2. Should be renewed within the first three months of the next contract.

3. If not renewed within three months, – it would be considered as a new

registration.

4. If they changed the sponsor, it would be regarded as new registration.
